Level 2 and 3 (Physical Science)
Academic Year 2023/2024 and 2024/2025
The applications are invited for the “Professor Balan Selliah Memorial Bursary” scholarship from second & third year physical science students.
Criteria for Selection:
- The students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Statistics as a main subject at the University of Jaffna shall be selected on the basis of monetary need. In case if no such student is qualified, then a student pursuing an undergraduate degree offering Pure mathematics with the monetary need shall be considered for this award.
- The student shall be selected through assessing their level 1 and level 2 (if available) performance.
- There shall be no automatic renewal of the award. A recipient of the award for level 2 shall request for the award again, in order for him/her to be eligible for it at level 3
- Applicants should not be in receipt of any financial assistance except Mahapola Scholarship / Bursary.
- The application form should be downloaded from the Welfare Services website (https://welfare.jfn.ac.lk/) and printed on both sides of A4 paper.
- Ensure that the application form is fully and accurately completed. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
- If certified salary details are not available, a certificate of income issued by your Grama Niladhari and Divisional Secretary must be attached.
- Each student is permitted to submit only one application.
- The completed application must be submitted to the Welfare Services Branch on or before 24th July 2026.
- Applicants are required to submit both:
- The Google Form, and
- A hard copy of the application along with all supporting documents to the Welfare Services Branch.
Important: Only applicants who have submitted both the Google Form and the hard copy prior to the deadline will be considered for selection.
